The Refining Process

This past Sunday we started a new challenge for the youth group at our home church. The challenge is called "Dare to be a Daniel". The goal of this challenge is to build up the character of the young people. I believe we should all take this challenge both young and old. We are challenged to be refined! By what does refine mean?

Refine-

1. To reduce to a pure state
2. To free from moral imperfections
3. To improve by pruning or polishing
4. To free from what is coarse, vulgar, or uncouth

We must remember that the enemy goal is to steal, kill, and destroy our character. We must remember that we must be willing to be refined through God's hand.

7 character traits to be refined

1. Reputation
2. Integrity
3. Loyalty
4. Compassion
5. Forgiveness
6. Passion
7. Patience

Refining will always produced the character we should posses.

One who is pure without imperfections made possible by the polishing hand of God.

I pray this helps. Just a little thought about building our character.

In the youth group I had the young people put one word that describe my character. There where the normal ones such as nice, kind, and good but one boy put "off the hook".

LET'S BE OFF THE HOOK! LET US GO THROUGH THE PROCESS OF REFINING!

I asked the boy what he meant by off the hook and he said "AWESOME".

The refining process will make our lights shine like the 4th of July fireworks party.
